Family
Only son of Skourous and Erytheia.
Nephew of Flatus.
Background
- Iolaus and Hercules have known each other their whole lives, but were not always close friends (Young Hercules (Movie Pilot))
- Was promised a pet dog by his father, but never got one. (1.18 - A Serpent's Tooth)
- He did, however, have a pet goat. (1.07 - Inn Trouble)
- Iolaus grew up as a thief, and ran with the Lowacks - one of the most dangerous gangs around. (1.04 - Herc and Seek)
- When Iolaus was caught, he was given the option to go to jail or go to Cheiron's Academy. Although he chose the Academy, Iolaus continues to struggle to pass the exams and earn enough money to pay tuition. (See: Jail or Cheiron's Academy)
Wardrobe
Iolaus typically wears a patchwork vest and brown leather pants, although he appears shirtless in several episodes.

- After learning that Mila is headed to Cheiron's Academy, Iolaus introduces himself and Hercules as "the star cadets". He offers his hand to Mila to shake, but she rejects him with a repulsed look. He recognizes her name and mentions that he knows about her winning the Young Amazon Competitions. When she asks how he knows about that, he explains that he was an honor guest of Cyane's tribe, and it practically an amazon himself. But Mila is much more interested in Hercules, and asks him to show her the way to the Academy. As they walk away chatting, Iolaus sighs, "That is so typical."
- After Mila mentions the weakness in Panthar's fighting style that allows Iolaus to defeat him, Iolaus wags his finger at her and says, "Looking out for me already, huh? And we haven't even gone out yet." She responds, "No offense, but I'm not here to have fun. I'm here to fight." Iolaus growls in disappointment.
- As Mila is leaving, Iolaus tells her, "If you ever feel any need for Amazon bonding, you know where to find me." Mila grins, "He just never gives up, does he?" "Nope," Hercules admits. "Now that's my kind of guy," she says, slapping Iolaus's face lightly. As she walks away, Hercules and Iolaus both sigh, "Amazons."
