  • Wendy lives on Lindentree, a farm / riding stables with cabins for guests. Her father Charles runs the place and her mother Helen does the accounting. Charles' mother, Alice, also lives there. Charles' divorced sister, Ingrid, and her daughter, Vanessa live in the nearby "health farm" which has rooms for guests, a sauna, masseuses, exercise rooms... Bianca, Wendy's best friend, is in the same class as Wendy and Vanessa and all three girls ride horses. Paul, Bianca's widowed father and a policeman has been raising her single handedly for the past five years. Harry, an elderly man living nearby, is a friend of Alice's. William Westwood is a rival stable owner but despite Charles' statements, he is probably more honorable than Charles. Mark and Cathy are riding instructors and Flavio and Steven are grooms. Max is disreputable dealer in real estate and other ventures. When the series starts Cathy is seeing David, a teacher at the school, and Wendy is seeing Steven. Also Bianca's older brother Peter and Wendy's older sister Alexa are away at school.
