The giant snake is a huge red snake that guards the treasure trove inside the Cave of Ares. It is one of the many obstacles that one must get past if they want to get to the treasure. In the series pilot, Hercules faces it after he retrieves Zeus's Urn. He defeats it with the help of another obstacle- The pendulum blades.
