Daptes is a bandit from The Northern Lands who Jason encounters during his stay in Balan and Pelia's home. Intimidating and cruel, he demands a tribute from the village in return for his men not destroying the village. Jason stands up to him, and later teaches the villagers to do the same. Ultimately, he is defeated by the villagers and taken to be arrested.
