A former cadet of Cheiron's Academy, Calimachus decided that being a soldier and potentially taking other people's lives wasn't for him. Instead, he became physician in King Eteocles's army. During the fight against the Parthans, he (along with Hercules, Iolaus, Jason, and a Parthan soldier named Tiresius) were trapped behind enemy lines. Having already been wounded, he chose to draw the Parthans' attention away from the others so they could escape. He was last seen taking an arrow to the heart.
