Galinthia is a giantess who, on the eve of Prince Jason's coronation, attacks a group of travelers on their way to Corinth for the event. She has a grudge against both Jason and King Aeson because the latter waged an attack on her 10 years prior. After being captured by Jason and the soldiers, she not only escapes, but takes Iolaus hostage as well. It is later revealed that Galinthia was once human. In fact, she was the midwife who aided Alcmene when she gave birth to Hercules. Though it is never officially stated, Hercules does speculate that Hera must have turned her into the giantess she is now because of the help she gave Alcmene.
