It's spring break at Cheiron's Avademy - the perfect time for Hercules, Iolaus, and Lilith to visit Cyane and the Amazons. But when they arrive at the tribe's settlement, they find it deserted - the Amazons have simply vanished. How could Ares, the god of war and the Amazons' defender and protector, have allowed this to happen?
The Amazons have been taken to Yoruba, a West African kingdom. There Ogun, Ares' counterpart, plans to inflame his people against the Amazons to start a war between them. But for once Ares is powerless - Zeus has forbidden any Olympian from interfering in the affairs of outside gods. Now Hercules and Ares must forge a strange kind of alliance while battling three fearsome monsters in order to rescue Cyane and her people.
