The daughter of King Cadmus, Dido is offered as a coronation present to Jason. However, Jason refuses to marry her because he doesn't know or love her. Likewise, Dido's heart already belongs to the poetic Antos. In the end, both parties get what they want- Dido gets to marry Antos and Jason remains a bachelor for the moment.
