Unable to woo any of the local girls at [[Kora's Inn]], [[Hephaestus]] asks for advice from [[Hercules]], wanting to know exactly what it is that makes a woman who she is. Their conversation, in a strange way, prompts him to create Galatea. With a literal heart of gold, an iron will, and a one-track mind, she ends up falling in love with Hercules instead. She pursues him relentlessly, despite his obvious lack of interest and attempts to get her to notice Hephaestus. | |||
Later, when a jealous Hephaestus thinks that Hercules is trying to steal Galatea away from him, he puts a spell on her to make her hate him. Unfortunately, her hatred runs so deeply that she tries to kill Hercules (and his friends when they interfere).
