Hercules and Eurydice

Hercules and Eurydice - "Just another Daring Rescue".

      The first time they meet, Hercules is visiting Bacchus's Cavern and Eurydice offers to show him around. Part of Eurydice's job as a Bacchae is to lure in victims, and she easily spins a web of seductions around Hercules that he barely escapes from. She persuades Orpheus to play the lyre to help Hercules, and betrays Bacchus to help Hercules and his friends escape. He falls in love with her first, but she only has eyes for Orpheus, and Hercules keeps silent about his feelings as she leaves to start a new life with Orpheus.

      The mention of Eurydice being at Orpheus's concert prompts Hercules to go visit her. Eurydice's influence gets him and Iolaus into the club, and Hercules follows Eurydice backstage. She reveals that she is no longer a Bacchae, but Hercules senses that something is still wrong. He figures out about the deal Orpheus made and eventually defeats Bacchus a second time, but again he stays quiet about his feelings and Eurydice still walks off into the sunset with Orpheus to try to restart their new life together.

      Hercules, still pining over Eurydice, runs into her and Orpheus in the marketplace. Eurydice has missed Hercules, and confesses some of the trouble she and Orpheus are having together. The lyre reappears and Hercules and Orpheus fight while Eurydice makes her exit. She returns the lyre to Bacchus, in an attempt to make a deal, but by this point it's obvious her feelings have shifted from Orpheus to Hercules. She agrees to marry Bacchus to keep Hercules safe, but when the deal is broken, she frees Orpheus but goes to Hercules's side to fight. In the final face-off between Bacchus and Hercules, a wayward attack from Bacchus hits Eurydice, and she dies in Hercules's arms, confessing her love.

      Hercules travels to the Underworld to argue Eurydice's case before her soul is judged and sent to Tartarus. He makes a few deals with Hades, and willingly jumps into Tartarus in trade so Eurydice can stay in the Elysian Fields. Moved by his sacrifice, Hades changes the rules and allows Eurydice passage into the Elysian Fields before sending Herc and Jason back to the surface world. The last time they see each other, Hercules looks down into the lake's reflection and sees Eurydice's reflection, happy and at peace, wishing him goodbye with her hand over her heart.

Current relationship status: Star-crossed lovers with bad timing that met too late.

• Eurydice seduces Hercules into becoming one of them, and Hercules almost doesn't get away.
• Eurydice persuades Orpheus to play to distract the Bacchae from biting Hercules.

Moments in 1.22 - A Lady in Hades

• Hercules pulls Eurydice out of the mouth of Tartarus.
• Hercules and Eurydice can't keep their hands off one another right before they go into the Elysian Fields.
• Hercules jumps into Tartarus, leaving Eurydice weeping on her knees, before she flails against Hades.
• Hercules waves goodbye to Eurydice, who smiles at him with her hand over her heart.
