The Myth

Also called the Grey Witches, the Graeae were the daughters of the primordial sea deities Phorcys and Ceto and the sisters of the Gorgons. The three sisters shared one eye and one tooth between them, and they typically took the appearance of old hags.

Some sources list a fourth sister- Persis ("destroyer").

On Young Hercules

Much like their mythological counterparts, the Graeae had an eye that they used to see, passing it back and forth between the three of them. When they lost the eye and Hercules took possession of it, they sought help from Artemis in getting it back.
